Padel is coming to the Waikato!
A fun, social new sport that’s easy to pick up and made for everyone.
What is Padel?
Padel is the world’s fastest growing racquet sport, and once you try it, you’ll see why. It’s a fun, social mix of tennis and squash, played in doubles on an enclosed court with glass and mesh walls.
The rules are simple, the rallies are addictive, and it’s easy to pick up even if you’ve never swung a racquet before. Whether you're here to compete or just keen for a laugh with friends, padel is your new favourite way to get active.

Let’s Break It Down
What is padel, and how is it different from tennis?
Padel is a fun and fast-paced racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It's played in doubles on a smaller court with glass walls that keep the ball in play for longer rallies.
The racquets are solid (no strings), the serve is underarm, and the focus is more on strategy and teamwork than power, which makes it easier to learn and super addictive to play.
Do I need to be fit or sporty to play?
Not at all. One of the best things about padel is how easy it is to get started. You don’t need to be super fit, have played tennis before, or even consider yourself “sporty.”
It’s all about giving it a go, having fun, and moving your body — at your own pace.
What gear do I need?
Just wear comfy clothes and non-marking court shoes. We’ll provide racquets and balls if you’re new or still getting a feel for the game.
If you’re hooked (and we think you will be), there’s plenty of gear available to buy or hire later on.
How much will it cost to play?
We’re committed to keeping things affordable and flexible.
Pricing details are coming soon, but expect casual court hire, coaching, and membership options to suit all levels. Whether you’re playing once a week or just popping in for a hit with mates.
Can kids play?
Absolutely! Padel is a brilliant option for kids, it’s safe, easy to learn, and super engaging.
We’ll be offering family-friendly sessions and junior coaching to help young players learn the game in a fun and supportive environment.
Where are you located?
We’re in the final stages of securing the perfect venue right here in the Waikato. It’s going to be a space that’s social, welcoming, and made for good times on and off the court.
Watch this space — exciting things are coming soon!
